Base near Lake Louise for Moraine Lake access, the lakeshore and Yoho’s quieter viewpoints. Shuttle arrangements matter here in peak season.
Allow a full day for Peyto Lake, Saskatchewan River Crossing, the Columbia Icefield and all the stops that are impossible to plan from a desk.
Use Jasper for Maligne Canyon, Maligne Lake and a quieter day around Pyramid Lake before returning south or continuing to Edmonton.
